Football has so much to offer and we hope you get you all the information you need here on our website but we do know it is hard to express all the concepts and benefits of football and the Orono youth Program. As a starter, we begin with some of the best coaches in youth sports whose primary concern is about the student-athlete. Orono Youth Football (OYF) is dedicated to helping young people in grades 2nd through 8th learn the fundamentals of football while learning the value of teamwork and have fun doing it.

For the 2020 season, we have a lot of new and exciting things going in the program with the sole idea of making our program the best it can be for the Orono youth football player who maybe on the journey to participating on Friday nights in the future.

The Risk - Benfit Threshold of Football

Today you hear many stories of the dangers of football and the fear of head injuries. There is no doubt football is a game of heavy contacts, and there are bodily results to those contacts. The effect of these messages is parents decide to avoid the risk of football without truly understanding the amount of risk, how that risk compares to other activities and the benefit or reward from this ultimate team game.  We are not here to convince you one way or another but to provide you some facts about the information that is available and to understand some of its biases.
